GW/DC Local Archives

DC is home to fantastic collections of visual and other materials on DC life and culture. Here are a few examples.

Kip Lornell and Charles Stephenson Washington Go-Go Collection, GW Special Collections Research Centter (hours/info above).  Oral interviews, concert tapes, flyers, zines, photographs, etc.

DC Punk Archive, at DC Public Library, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Hundreds of recordings, film, flyers, zines, etc. Call to check access & hours.

The Historical Society of Washington DC housed in a beautiful Carnegie Library building, houses thousands of photographs, maps, books, magazines, and all manner of othermaterial related to the history of Washington DC for all time periods.
