MAUS banned in Russia because of swastika

Maus a Survivors TaleArt Spiegelman’s MAUS is a moving graphic novel detailing his father’s experience surviving the Holocaust. It is anything but pro-Nazi. Yet bookstores in Moscow have removed it because of the swastika on the cover–in an attempt to comply with edicts banning swastikas from public display as Russia prepares to celebrate the anniversary of the end of WWII.  Listen to NPR’s interview with Spiegelman:
